How this site pays for itself.

Partner links

On pages such as the Veterans Day deals board, the temporary lodging lists and the settling-in steps, some links to stores, hotels and services are affiliate links. When you buy or book through one, the company pays PCSgo Connect a small commission. The price you pay is the same either way.

• A deal is listed because it is real and confirmed with the company, never because it pays a commission. Offers with no affiliate program sit next to offers that have one, and the cards look the same.
• We do not accept payment to add a deal, move a deal up the page, or soften its fine print.
• Where a link is an affiliate link, it opens the company's own site, not a middleman.

Sponsor placements

Real estate agents and mortgage lenders who present a station guide pay a flat placement fee. Lenders are never paid per lead or per closed loan. Who presents a guide does not change the BAH table, the housing figures, the school data or anything else on it; it changes only whose name and photo appear on the card and who answers when you ask a question.

What never changes based on who pays

• BAH and OHA rates, which come from the Defense Travel Management Office.
• Home values and rents, from Zillow and the Census Bureau.
• School district data, from the National Center for Education Statistics.
• Hospital and VA facility listings, from CMS and the VA.
• Deal listings, which are checked against each company's own announcement.
